Chiari Malformation Infographic

This medical infographic was designed to educate patients and the public about Chiari Malformation Type I and Syringomyelia, two neurological conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. The piece uses clear anatomical illustrations, visual comparisons, and structured information to explain the differences between a normal brain and one affected by these conditions, while highlighting common symptoms, definitions, and treatment options. In addition to the educational infographic, I created a companion illustration that focused on the patient experience, visually communicating the physical and emotional challenges individuals may face while living with these conditions. Through a combination of medical illustration, storytelling, accessible typography, and organized information hierarchy, this project transformed complex medical concepts into an approachable resource designed to increase awareness, understanding, and empathy for those affected by Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia.
